President of the Association for the Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges (AGAUC) And Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost Professor of Higher Education Management Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA, USA

Thank you for visiting the Association for the Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges’ (AGAUC) website. I trust that you are led to this website because of your interest in globalization in higher education, advancement of higher education institutions, and/or the role of private higher education sector. The central mission of the Association is to provide a forum for higher education scholars, leaders, students, and stakeholders to explore international collaborations, intersectoral cooperation, and cross-cultural deliberations solely for the purpose of enhancing quality assurance, expanding access, and ensuring accountability in higher education.

AGAUC conferences have been helpful to countries new to the private higher education sector, useful to higher education administrators new to managing in an increasingly competitive environment, and relevant to scholars seeking greater understanding of the impact of globalization on higher education. Also, the opportunity to network across the globe through AGAUC conferences is certainly of value to those who seek such an opportunity.

Although higher education institutions are locally funded, their mission, operations, and impact transcend their geopolitical borders. Hence, AGAUC is an invitation to government and higher education stakeholders to participate in AGAUC conferences. The 2016 conference in Xian, China promises to be an exciting, productive, engaging, and rewarding experience. We welcome you to join AGAUC and/or participate in the 2016 Conference. Come and explore the historic city of Xian with us. Hope you find the website useful and we look forward to receiving your registration and to your participation at the conference.
